Frequently asked questions 

Do I need a referral from the veterinarian?

No, you do not need a referral from a veterinarian but it is ideal for us to contact your vet prior to the appointment. This will allow us to get any relevant history regarding your pets case.

Can you come to my home?

Yes, canine and equine consults are carried out at your property or wherever the animal is located. Human physiotherapy is carried out at the clinic (Shop 2, 1-3 The Strand, Chelsea, 3196, VIC).

How long is the appointment?
  • Initial canine and equine - 60 minutes

  • Review equine - 45-60 minutes

  • Review canine - 30 (standard) or 45 (long) minutes 

  • Initial human - 45 minutes

  • Review human - 30 minutes

What is the difference between an initial and a review appointment?

  • You will book an initial appointment if you or your animal have never been seen by sentient physiotherapy.

  • A review appointment will be booked if this is a subsequent consultation.​

Do you accept pet insurance?

Please check with your insurance company to see if they cover physiotherapy. If so, you are able to submit the invoice to them and claim money back.

How can I pay?

You can pay via debit or credit card via eftpos. You may also pay by cash.

Do you accept private health insurance and EPC referrals?

Yes, you can claim you private health rebate on the spot. We also accept health care plans (EPC) from your doctor.

I want a consult to see if there is anything I need to work on with my horse. Is this ok?

Yes, preventative physiotherapy is such a fundamental part of getting your horse to work well. We carry out a full assessment to see if there are any asymmetries that your horse need to work on. A program will then be prescribed for your horse with the aim to prevent any future problems.
